Our engine treats each runner's open orders as a single pickup-and-delivery problem. It respects capacity, priority, elevator/stair rules, and where each item actually is right now — pantry, storage, or another room.
Pickup ↔ delivery aware
The route inserts pickup stops based on real item locations, not just delivery order.
Stair-safe by design
Heavy or bulky items automatically skip stair edges even when stairs are enabled.
Priority + SLA weighted
Urgent and VIP orders are inserted with an SLA penalty so they never get buried.
Live asset tracking
Every Extra Bed knows where it is.
Serialize movable assets — rollaways, transformers, humidifiers — and their location updates automatically as runners complete pickup, delivery, and collection. Front sees the answer to "do we have an extra bed?" on the same screen they take calls on.

FAQ
+Do I need to upload a hotel floor plan?
No. Quick setup asks for floors, room numbering, pantry locations, and elevator/stair. That produces a routable graph. You can refine edges and travel times later.
+What about outsourced houseman companies?
HotelStride models a Contractor Organization separately from the hotel. The hotel owner scopes exactly what the contractor sees.
+Is smart routing required?
No. You can turn it off. Orders, asset tracking, and the operations feed all continue to work — the app becomes a task manager instead of a routing engine.
+What happens if Wi-Fi drops?
The runner PWA keeps the current route, current items, and asset snapshot in local cache. Order completion queues and syncs when the connection returns.
+Do runners need to install an app?
No native app. Open the URL, tap Add to Home Screen — full-screen PWA experience.
